Connected, or “Eutierria” – the profound feeling of harmony with nature, where the boundaries between the self and the earth fade away, a positive feeling of peace and connection to Mother Nature as a life force, as described by the philosopher Glenn Albrecht.
ARTIST BIO::
Besides being a picture book writer and illustrator using primarily watercolor, Rita’s love for wildlife is a major motivation for painting in oil. Nature feels bigger than life and mostly it needs space to express itself and therefore she uses big canvases. It has always been a source of comfort and peace of mind for her.
“Nature is essential to our quality of life, it’s the holy breath we take everyday, it feeds us not only oxygen but also delicious veggies that magically turn into one of our favorite foods: and beverages: pizza and beer. It’s a solution to our stressors, and teaches us to go with the flow and be present. It needs us to notice her so that we can protect her.”
Originally from Naples Italy, Rita has lived in the United States for about 20 years, 10 of those years spent in Norfolk and Virginia Beach. She has a degree in painting from the Academy of Art University of Naples, and an MFA in Fine Art from the Academy of Art of San Francisco, CA.
